Assalam Aliakoom, I am writing this email on behalf of the Granville Youth Association (GYA). The GYA have recently purchased a former Church in Granville and intent to convert it into a Mosque\Community Centre. The property was purchased for $507,000, we still have a further $400,000 to raise by the 14th of July. According to all legal advice we have received; the property is already a “Place of Worship” and therefore we require no further council approval to turn this property into a Mosque were we can establish the 5 daily prayers and Friday Prayers. The property has a ready built 350 square metre hall, and is situated 500 metres from Granville Station.
