Skilled ? Graduate (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 485)

No points test applies.
An 18 month temporary visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian qualification in Australia as a result of at least two (2) years study. This visa allows overseas students who do not meet the criteria for a permanent General Skilled Migration visa to remain in Australia for 18 months to gain skilled work experience or improve their English language skills.
Note: As a holder of this visa, you may apply for permanent residence at any time if you are able to meet the pass mark on the General Skilled Migration points test.
Basic Requirements
This visa is for you if you are an overseas student who:
§ is unable to meet the pass mark on the points test for the Skilled ? Independent (Residence) visa
§ is under 45 years of age
§ in the last six (6) months has completed an eligible qualification(s) as a result of at least two (2) years study in Australia
§ IELTS Proficient 7.0 on each of the four (4) components OR Competent 6.0 on each of the four (4) components OR Vocational 5.0 on each of the four (4) components (if you have nominated a trade occupation)
o Note: From 1 January 2010, applicants will not be able to claim Vocational English for GSM visas.
§ Has the skills and qualifications that meet the Australian standard for an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and your nominated occupation is classified as either a 60 point occupation or a 50 point occupation.
§ Health Examination with HSA
§ AFP Clearance certificate
§ You provide police certificates for each country you have lived in for 12 months or more over the last ten (10) years since turning 16.
§ You and all secondary applicants included in your application, must be in Australia:
§ DIAC Application Fee A$230.00 (Fees may be subject to adjustment at any time).
Secondary applicant eligibility
You may include the following secondary applicants in your visa application:
partner
a dependent child of you or your partner
a dependent relative of you or your partner.
Your family members must meet all of the following requirements:
All secondary applicants must hold an eligible visa
All secondary applicants included in your application, must be in Australia
All secondary applicants undertake a Health Examination with HSA
All Secondary applicants must be ‘Good Character’
Adding family members to your subclass 485 visa
If you currently hold a subclass 485 visa, you may add the following secondary applicants after your visa has been granted:
your partner
a dependent child of you or your partner
a dependent relative of you or your partner.
You must apply using the paper base application.
You will need to provide evidence of your relationship to your family members.
Your family members may be in or outside Australia at the time they apply to be added to your subclass 485 visa and in or outside Australia when their visa is granted.
Your family members must also meet the following requirements.
Undertake a Health Examination with HSA
Must be a ‘Good Character’
