Media Release
Sydney (Aug 24, 2010): With only two weeks left to the Chand Raat Eid Festival (CREF 2010) the preparation for this mega event has been completed. The stalls have been booked, arrangements are done, promotion is underway and our respected guests have accepted invitations.
Thanks to all our stall holders, sponsors, honourable guests, community organisations, community leaders, Liverpool Council, Ethnic Local & International media for making this event possible. Certainly, this year the event will be another success.
The Management of CREF 2010 is glad to announce that this year there will be more than 100 stalls of food, fashion, jewellery, bangles, cosmetics, shoes, watches and children rides. As this a multicultural event, the management expects a large crowd turnout again this year, as the people will be coming from far distant suburbs of NSW and even from other cities. It is an open event where everyone is welcomed and the entry to event is free. The stall-holders represent various ethnic communities so do the attendees as well.
The organisers are grateful to honourable guests especially, Hon Laurie Ferguson MP, Paul Lynch MP, Wendy Waller Mayor Liverpool Council for accepting the invitation and few other dignitaries are expected to confirm their presence.
The event will open for the public at 5.30pm and finish at midnight. The official ceremony will be held at 7.00pm where honourable guests will deliver their messages, distributing service awards to the individuals and visit stalls.
Due to unfortunate natural (flood) disaster in Pakistan, at present, where millions of people dislocated and become homeless the management of CREF is going to campaign for Flood Relief Fund with Pakistani Australian Federation (PAF) at the event.
Syed Atiq ul Hassan, the Director, CREF said, this year more space has been occupied for children rides, stalls and parking. In addition to the main hall of Whitlam Centre another function room has also been booked for the official ceremony. He said that in this CREF we should not forget the victims of the flood in Pakistan and try our best to help them by our generous donations.
More details of CREF 2010 can be found on www.chandraat.net and also in Voice of Tribune Radio show ‘Saaz Aur Awaz’, on every Sunday 10.00pm on FM98.5.
