Media Release
Sydney (Press Release, CREF, 1st December, 2010): Moving Chand Raat Eid Festival (CREF) to Olympic Park is receiving great endorsement from the stakeholders and supporters of CREF.
Hon Laurie Ferguson, Member of Federal Parliament, in his remarks on CREF said that, ‘The relocation to Olympic Park represents a new dimension for Chand Raat. Over eleven years we have witnessed a dramatic advance from a few stalls at Lakemba, relocations and eventually the reality of an important Sydney festival to Liverpool. It has now outgrown this venue, and is on the verge of a dramatic further revitalisation’.
Hon Laurie Ferguson further said that, ‘Chand Raat combines a crucial religious event, the memory of harvests and seasons and a sustained, exhilarating festivity’. He has been attending the event for the last 3 years as a distinguish guest of the occasion.
It is to remind that more than 10, 000 people have attended, every year, in the last 3 years at the Whitlam Centre & Woodvale Park, Liverpool and it is expected to attract thousands more in the coming years. Therefore, meeting the needs and to bring more excitement to this fabulous event, CREF 2011 will be now showcasing at the most beautiful and vibrant location of Sydney Showground, Olympic Park – a central and convenient location for everyone in Sydney.
CREF 2011 will be held on Sunday 28th of August, 2011, 6.00pm to 1.00am, at Exhibition Hall, Sydney Showground Olympic Park. The stall bookings and sponsorships have already been opened, for details visit www.chandraat.net .
